Capt. Moore / Fish With the King

Shell Beach, LA USA

FUN DAY AT THE BEACH!! Had the pleasure of fishing Thursday with Richard his 12 year old daughter Katie and his wife Leslie. It was Katie and Leslie's first fishing trip. It was Katie's Birthday and she wanted to go fishing on a charter. We got on a really good trout bite in the Biloxi Marsh. We were catching fish just about as fast as we could throw out. As fast as I could bait and cast the poles Katie and Leslie were reeling them in. Katie was the star. She was catching just about every fish every cast. It took me a little while to work with Leslie but she started to catch on too. When I had time to get to Richard we really started to put some fish in the boat. We ended the day with 75 trout. The fish were 12 inches to 3 lb. with some white trout mixed in. Really nice family. A fun time was had by all.

Capt. Dane fished with Danny and Mina from Korea. Danny is at LSU law school. Mark at superior tackle told him to go down and fish with the king, and the rest is history. They had a fun day catching their limit of reds and 22 speckled trout. They said they had a really good time fishing with Capt. Dane and a fishing experience they will never forget.

The fishing is really good at the beach. Give us a call if you want to catch the yellow mouth fever.

Some people tell you about all the fish they catch. We show them to you every time we fish. One picture is worth a thousand words. We have lots of pictures!!!!!!

Made my first trip across Lake Borgne to the Biloxi Marsh and boy was it a blast.  I didn't quite limit but I caught lots of fish all day long.  Headed in by noon with 15 trout, 4 reds, also caught 4 sheepheads and 2 black drum.  One of the drum was a monster and would not fit in the net.  Had two 26.5 inch reds that would have been nice for a tournament.  All trout on gulp electric chicken and reds on shrimp.

Robert Campo

Shell Beach, LA USA

Another awesome day of fishing at the BEACH!!!

This morning, I arrived to Shell Beach to find a steady 10mph wind. I thought to myself, "Today is not going to be to good." Well man was I wrong! Everyone that left out of Campo's caught boxes of specs and reds! Specs and reds were caught from Stump Lagoon, Pete's Lagoon, Muscle Bay, Max's Pass, and Lake Eugene. Beautiful fish were caught to prove that the Biloxi marsh is the on fire for the fall.

I know that I have been preaching to y'all that there are still fish in Bay Eloi and today I have a story to prove it! One of our patrons, Steve Thomason, left from Campo's this morning with a baitwell full of Campo's live shrimp and headed to Snake Island in Black Bay. He had no success there so he gave it a shot and headed to Bay Eloi. He started at the short rocks and made his way to a few rigs and ended up with his boat limit of 75 specs! All of his fish were in the 3 pound range. I'm talking big fish!

Again, I don't care what charter captain says there are no more trout in Bay Eloi. The trout are still out there so if tomorrow is like today was, you are guaranteed fish in Bay Eloi! Take my word for it and you will not be disappointed! But if tomorrow is windy, you can fall back on the Biloxi marsh! No matter what the conditions, you all have many options available to make your fishing trip worth your wild!

Come on down and see us at the BEACH! At Campo's, we have 2 backdowns, ice, gas, diesel, and the best live bait around! Come to Campo's for some fast, friendly service where your not just customers, your family! To reach the Campo's call 504-239-6377! Hope to see y'all in the morning! Come down by us and be out there before the rest!

We appreciate your business!

Thanks,
The Campo's: Mabel, FJ, Michael, and Robert

P.S. I want to wish my wonderful and beautiful wife, Stacy, a happy 38th birthday! I love you baby!

BEAUTIFUL DAY AND A BEAUTIFUL CATCH!

This morning I had some regulars on board, the Goldsmith family. Mrs. Leone 94 years young, Jimmy and Robin.

We left out of Delta Marina in Empire, LA early and headed to the east side of the river. Upon arrival of the fishing area the water was quite stained from all the wind the past couple of days. The stained water did not seem to bother the fish today. Put the pole down on the first spot and the bite was on. Mrs. Leone, Robin and Jimmy put a whipping on the Speckled Trout and Redfish. We called it a day at noon with 80 Speckled Trout and 10 fine Redfish.

Mrs. Leone, Robin and Jimmy, as usual it was a pleasure to have you all on the boat today. THANKS AGAIN!

CASTAWAY CHARTERS

Delacroix , LA USA

The Sheepherder is in town !

My good friend and repeat customer from Georgia ,Roger Cannon and his son Billy and first timer W.L.Porter came in to Delacroix to rip some lips.
Roger made me a deal if he could get his limit of reds, Drum and trout then I wouldn’t have to mess with any Sheepshead this time.
We started about Ten Minutes from the dock with a little late start and settled in on a fast trout bite with trout from 13" to 18" on every cast with the artificial’s under a cork.
W.L. took a few minutes to get warmed up then started slinging trout over cast for cast with the rest of them.
After number 25 hit the box things slowed up so we repositioned the boat a few yards and Billy locked horns with a ten pound red that he saw with his new see thru the water red fish spotting Cosa del mar glasses and put it on ice in quick fashion.
That with a couple of drum and we were off to spot number two near four horse lake and Roger said he wanted a Flounder  and once the pole settled the his cork disappeared slowly under the surface and presto....one three pound flounder for the oven.
On to spot three and the tide was barely coming in but the trout were hungry and it didn’t matter .
The Chinese fire drill was back on with larger trout all from 17" to 21" and as fast as you could cast till number 85 was in the box which I thought was number 75 on the clicker but it was just that hard to keep up with.
W.L.and Roger were ready for another  red so we made a couple of stops on the way in but the tide was slack and the reds weren’t coming out to play but Billy noticed something with his new see thru the water Cosa sun glasses and on the next cast was in for the fight of his life with a monster 25 pound Black Drum pulling him around and around the boat till it finally had enough and swam to the net and Bill collapsed on the floor out of breath.
Today was the first day without small craft advisories in a long time and it was a pleasure to see calm seas.
The trout are on fire and the fall season is kicking in to full swing so get out there and rip some lips while the weather is good.

“I just had a last minute Cancellation for Sunday if any one wants to get in on some great trout action give us a call !!!”

Till next time ...Take a trip and rip some Lips!!

Smoked em again today in Buras/one stop shopping too! Two Fridays in a row...2 man limit of beautiful trout...caught by 9:15 a.m. both days!! Looked for reds for an hour, but found NONE.  Everyplace we tried, including up in the marsh, we caught and released more trout...they're everywhere.
Most fish caught fishing live shrimp 18" under paradise popper corks, but many were on purple with chautreuse tail cocahoes...tightlined.
Light winds and clean water with a falling tide made for great conditions.

Capt. George Ricks / GET-AWAY CHARTERS

Hopedale/Delacroix, LA USA

BEAUTIFUL MORNING IN HOPEDALE!! Today, Mark Heyman, owner of CLEAN FLEET AUTO BODY in Metiarie, La. brought along a large group of 10 friends, some from as far away as Alaska! Helping me with this group were Capt. Gene Dugas and Capt. Tony Barousse. In my boat were Mark, his lovely wife Annette, and pal Rick. We started out in Lake Robin, and our first stop yielded 10 trout real quick, but it was short lived. We were using live "boogie" shrimp under a cork. We moved about a mile and got on them again. They got the count up to 58, and the bite shut down again. We made one more move and they finished up their limit of 75 trout. The trout ranged in size from 12 to 17 inches, with a few throwbacks. We then went in search of some redfish action, but couldn't get on them. The tide had all but came to a standstill, and the gang wanted to head in a little early. Capts. Gene and Tony also had good boxes of trout, along with a couple of reds thrown in. It was a great day and everyone had a great time. Thanks to Capt. Gene and Capt. Tony for a great job!

I have a few openings left this month, and the fall trout action is great! If you want to get in on the fun, call me at GET-AWAY CHARTERS, (985)630-2923 OR (601)799-4280 AND BOOK YOUR CHARTER NOW!!! As always, no hidden charges and your fish are cleaned and packaged FREE!! First cast in Byu Biloxi at 6:00am this morning.BAM, suicide throw back trout cause it was still too dark to see my cork, moved to some cross canals and started catching a few, lots of throw backs.went deeper into byu biloxi fishing the intersections and any where current was moving arount corners.had 17 on the clicker when the tide stopped and so did the bites.Grabbed the map and started looking for some new places to try and setteled on a canal that connects  two lagoons and picked up a few more trout, a red and a drum.Moved to a lagoon off the straight canal and number 25 went on the clicker at 1:00pm. Did a recount and OOPS!26, put the last one back and headed back across lake Borgne.Nice ride. All fish caught under a poppin cork with chartruse cocaho tail tipped with shrimp.
Water was real clean in the marsh could see the bottom in 3 ft.
Ended the day with:
25 trout (no idea how many throw backs)
1 red
1 drum.
will post picture when I clean them tommorrow.

Being from Delacroix I am going to say what I know about Delacroix,But I am sure the same is true for Hopedale.Delacroix is producing fish at all the fall locations.Even as close as Lake Leary, and Lost Lake. Not much more I can say other than all places you should catch fish at this time of year is producing fish.May be a lot of small but limits of nice trout,Reds,Drum, etc. And again I am pretty sure the same holds true for Shell Beach, and Hopedale. The reports of the last 2 weeks says it all.So pretty much the call is YOURS on what places you would ratter fish.Hope this is of help to you,but I don't think you will be dissiponted with any you chose to fish. OH 1 more thing the same is true for Reggio.THE FALL PATTERN IS ON.

Gerald Motley

Chattanooga, TN USA

We fished on Stress Management with Capt. Kenny this summer and it was a trip I'll never forget.  We were 11 hours late getting off the dock because Kenny wanted to sleep late, the boat was not operable, and the deck hand was MIA until 1 PM.  We left the dock to get ice and found out the steering wasn't working either. We thought it was fixed and got 2 miles down the pass to find out that it broke again.  When we finally got to fish at midnight, the fish were cooperative, but when the line broke om my brother's rod, the deck hand told him to re-rig it himself because he was having to drive the boat for Kenny.
We picked up 1 YT and several BF to go woth 1 dolphin and then we were going to look for a line to troll but the water was a mess so we did not find it.  No fault of Kenny's.  We were supposed to do a 36 hour but with one captain wecould only do a 1 day limit so the decision was made to go get some snapper and head in.  We got our snapper in spite of having 2 rods inoperable because they broke.  We managed to land 2 AJs with the largest going a personal best 70 lbs.
At this point we had no ice left in the fish box because it leaked and allowed  saltwater to get into the box.  We headed back to Cypress Cove and found we only had 50-60 gallons of fuel left so if we had stayed out like we were supposed to, we would have had to be rescued with more fuel.
The boat's electrical system could not support the AC and the outside running lights at the same time so at night we had no AC in the cabin.  When we got to the dock, we had some of the fish that we could not keep because it had nothing to keep it cold and and had gotten beat around so bad in the "ice box" without ice that it had actually broke in two.
In his defense, Gary Bonano offered us another trip at cost whenever we wanted to come back.  We spent $2500 for the boat, $1600+ on fuel and still tipped the deck hand for a less than desirable trip.  So we spent
$4500 and Strike Zone's  at cost trip is only $750 off of that.  I think at cost would be less than that because the captain and deckhand can't be making that much.  We still have not received our T-shirt that we were supposed to get.
I love coming to LA to fish and I would love to find a good captain with a sportfisher type of vessel that will put us on a boat that will perform as well as I like to fish.  I have gone deep sea fishing for the last 15 years with the last 4 in LA.  There is no better place in the world to fish, but I need to find the right people to fish with.  If anyone out there has a suggestion, tell me.  Thank you.

Neshoba County, MS United States

In response to Bubba

The powers that be inserted language in MS regulations concerning REPLICAS of past calibers to become legal during the PRIMITIVE WEAPONS season for deer; therefore the .45-70 centerfire rifle passes the test. In Alabama legal weapons for hunting deer are described as follows: (2) DEER: WHEN AND WHERE DOG OR STALK HUNTING IS ALLOWED – • Rifles using centerfire, mushrooming ammunition. • Shotguns, 10 gauge or smaller using buckshot, slugs, or single round ball. • Muzzle-loaders and Black Powder Handguns--.40 caliber or larger, provided further it shall be illegal to possess other firearms while hunting with muzzleloaders during the special muzzleloader season. • Long bows, compound bows, or crossbows. • Handguns or pistols using centerfire, mushrooming ammunition. WHEN AND WHERE STALK HUNTING ONLY IS ALLOWED – • Same as above, except slugs or single round ball only may be used in shotguns. SO it seems to say that during the Alabama muzzleloader season, one must use a muzzleloader or black powder weapon, neither of which covers the .45-70 centerfire rifle. BUT you can call Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Law Enforcement Division in Montgomery at 334/242-3467 or Information at 1-800-262-3151 and get it straight from the folks that enforce the law.

Things are picking up at the BEACH!

Even though it started out a little windy, today turned out to be a great day of fishing. Specs and reds were caught all over today! Places such as Bob's Lake, Bay Maroon, False Mouth, Lake Eugene, Muscle Bay, and Redfish Bay towards Miller's Point produced specs and reds today.

Not many people have fishing deep in the Biloxi Marsh and the fishermen from Bayou Catty haven't been able to get across due to the rough weather conditions. That is one advantage that Louisiana fishermen have over Mississippi fishermen; no matter how rough it is, we can still get in marsh without getting beat up on the way.

I just want to give today's fishermen of the day award to Capt. Frank Moore and Capt Johnny Nunez! Although he had his hands full with his crew today, Capt Frank still managed to show them Louisiana's fishing at its best! He left a little later than his usual time and returned with 75 specs with his crew of 3! Capt. Johnny, a native of Shell Beach, has been fishing in the Biloxi marsh and has been returning with great success! Today, he returned with his limit of specs and his charming smile, as always. I just want to recognize two of our local fishermen who are great fishermen, sportsmen, and, most of all, great friends to us Campo's!

Also, remember to dress for the weather. It is starting to get a little cool and it is a little chilly on the run out in the mornings. I just want to throw that out there so everyone is able to fish comfortably!

Come on down and see us at the BEACH! At Campo's, we have 2 backdowns, ice, gas, diesel, and the best live bait around! Come to Campo's for some fast, friendly service where your not just customers, your family! To reach the Campo's call 504-239-6377!

We appreciate your business!

Thanks,

Fishing Magician Charters

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Travis and his friends from Mississippi. They spent the night at the lodge, and then got of early ready to catch some fish.

First stop was Campo's Marina. We filled the bait well with some live shrimp. Then, we headed to the Biloxi Marsh. Eventhough, the wind was blowing pretty hard, the guys still managed to catch 120 trout in the 12 - 16" range. All fish were caught 2' under a popping cork using live shrimp.

These guys were a great group of guys to fish with. I enjoyed the day as much as they did.

If you want to catch some fish and have some fun, Fishing Magician Charters is the one. We can help you enjoy a trip to remember.

CAPTAIN BARRY/BIGFISH

HOPEDALE, LA USA

BIGFISH/HOPEDALE/ BRETON SOUND

Hopedale just full of TROUT...Windy or not!
It was not perfect conditions this morning at BSM for Todd, Josh, Keith and Mary...but we headed into the Biloxi Marsh and made it work...brezy and not much tide....good news is the TROUT did not get the e-mail about the conditions...and we had LIVE BOOGIES!

Crew was from Wisconsin....Walleye country!  Trout for us today though!

We worked bottom and Cork...the BOX filled up nicely around some throwbacks...the Whites were thick too so we put the 12inch rule on them so as not to keep 100 of them needlessly...but the action was non-stop and the Gulps kept Josh steady on the artificial!  Tide was an issue...not much and high but we stayed after what we had...nice little bottom bit near Eugenie was a surprise too!

Final Count:  67 SPECKLED TROUT,14 WHITE TROUT...Nice Box of 80 FISH and busy all morning...great Folks!
